This week has been very strange – shifts all around – and it took me a while to get used to it. Right
now though, things are mentally coming back. Clearer thought, forced writing, and more sleep. It’s frightening how profound a change the littlest things can make.
Regardless, the election is upon us. There have been voting booth, racial, and lawyer problems; to
whittle the list down to a nub. Kerry is pandering to the minority public by speaking French, Spanish and God-knows what else, while Bush has, on Good Morning America, told Charlie Gibson that he does not back a Amendment to Ban Gay Marriage even though that seemed to be one of his major platform issues. It’s become difficult to tell which one is worse. Also, the Red Sox swept the Cardinals to win the World Series and reverse their history of post-season blunders. As well, I’m using really crappy drumsticks right now that I can hardly hold onto while playing. The darn things are practically laminated allowing for some real grip antithesis. I’ll be buying new ones today.
And now I’m going home.
Perhaps more to come.

Pretty big headache this morning. Eyes hurt. Seems like I don't have much to write about. Head's been pretty blank lately. Happens.

Read this article, and realize that if someone doesn't hit that sign everyone in America will be pissed off.
FREE TACO!!!
I had a great weekend in Decatur with Jenna. Hung out with Ben and Nark. Relaxed and watched Da Ali G Show. It's back to work, however. Pretty tired. Drinking "Chinese Flower" tea that Rebekah keeps throwing at me, literally. More to write later.

Boston won last night. What!
Houston will win tonight. What!
Great World Series starts this weekend.
Today was a different kind of day. I would like to think that I'm a tolerant person. When annoying
or angering situations present themselves I would like to think that I'm able to compose myself and deal with them. I also don't like to write angry; which is why I haven't written anything at all until I left the office and am away from the annoying and angering situation which has presented itself. When I got my job I was excited to be getting my own office. To have the freedom to relax in that office, and get my work done. That has changed. No longer is it my office. It is David and Andy's office. Now, while it is true that we are required to be on the phone, calling candidates it is not a requirement to be so loud that it actually bothers the other person. Yet, there we are. Many times I will be talking and can't hear a word that person is saying because of Andy's volume. He is so loud that Melissa, who has the office next to mine, has to close her door. That's a bit excessive.
I'm not a confrontational person either. I tend to deal with situations differently, and pray that they
work themselves out and get better. So, I waited. It is at this point that I've reached my end. Three times while I have been on the phone with a candidate I have been shushed by this man. Three times. A man whose volume annoys the person in the next office. Actually, to be more specific, twice he shushed me and once he snapped his fingers at me. He would then, after getting off the phone, proceed to act like we were friends. Joking with me about one thing or the other. He is acting as if I am his subordinate. I am not. We are equals in that office, and there is no reason for it. If he is trying to exert himself as the alpha male, I don't know for how long I can keep calm. Like I said, I'm a tolerate person. It takes a lot to anger me to the point where I have to say something. I have reached that point. My eyes are twitching, I can't sleep, and I'm dreading coming in to work. That is nowhere near the environment anyone should be working in.
To that end, tomorrow I will be sitting down with my boss explaining the problem and, hopefully,
coming to a conclusion; because, frankly, I can't work there if this situation continues. And that's it.
Sorry for wasting anyone who is reading this' time. I just needed to get all this out.

It's warm in the office today. Candidates aren't cooperating. Recruiters are yawning. Didn't get much
sleep last night due to the Red Sox/Yankees game. I need to shave. Three days strong. Need to get some gas in my car and some sugar-free mints for my mouth. Going to check out snare drums and stands tonight with Greg. Hopefully I won't have to spend to much for something nice. Dinner at Jimmy John's. Been practicing a lot lately. I think I'm getting better, but I can't really gauge that. Never have. Need some judgement from some good drummers.
Holyday today. Should be off, but I'm not. Need to give Mikhail the days that I'll be taking for
vacation. The commemoration last night was nice. Got to see some people I haven't for a long time. One that I haven't spoken with, not by choice, for a few years. It was weird. We grew up family friends, went to Bahai school every Sunday for around ten years, and now it's difficult to strike up a conversation. People change. Evolve. Cacoon.
Texas for Thanksgiving, and again over the "Christmas break". Hang out with the guys.
Relaxation.
Back to work. No more writing. Need to figure out why I can't think straight.

Vote for the last hot dog!
Direct from Montreal's Le Stade Olympique.
"...pansy-ass, tea-sipping opinions."
Yeah, it's weird, perhaps wrong, for the Guardian to advise British citizens to writing letters to Ohio trying to get people to vote for Senator Kerry instead of President Bush and it's overstepping those boundaries (which is oddly American) that they are trying to implement in the situation in Iraq, but for no reason should American's be responding in the ways they have been. Two wrongs, both childish don't make either country look good.
Not sure which one is worse, however. The British look like douchebags for forcing their opinions on Ohio, a swing state, but America looks like cultural bigots for making very charged comments about the British, Scots and Welsh.

A response to comments in an open forum unlike the new Kerry film
Guliani's retarded.
What? That's it.
The issue with the Kerry film is simple. There is a difference of arena. While, yes, people can turn off their televisions it's still presented in a very public forum instead of a private situation like Moore’s film. Also, while, yes, the film is obviously a jab at Kerry and his past they're trying to pass it off as news or a historical documentary unlike Moore. At least Moore had the balls to admit that he was taking potshots at the president instead of childishly hiding behind a lie. The Kerry film is an attack and is political in nature. This means that the stations have to be far and balanced. If they air this film, they, more than likely, will be sued up to their eyes by any number of people, republicans included. It's just stupid. Sinclair is trying to destroy someone's credibility simply because he's running against the president and here we have the republicans saying that Kerry used Chaney's daughter as a last ditch effort to get voters. Right. It’s pot calling the kettle black, it’s childish, it’s pointless political attacks for marginal gain. All of these things are stupid, pointless, and, in my opinion, wrong. It’s a shame that people have to drown their morals to beg votes, on both sides.
Lastly, I don’t like either candidate. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s a race between a robot and a monkey, and that’s really retarded; still not as retarded as Guliani.
Young Men Never Learn or Change Their Ways
As it stands, Sinclair Broadcasting Group - "the nation's largest owner of television stations,
many of them in electoral swing states," nytimes.com - will be airing the 'film' "Stolen Honor: Wounds that Never Heal", an obviously slanted 'documentary' about Senator Kerry's war record. Sinclair seems to think that this 'fact-based film' is less of an attack on Kerry and more like news. 'News' that is 30 years old.
Why all the quotes? None of this is proven. None of it is ‘fact-based reporting’. They took the
Michael Moore Road, interview a bunch of people and use only those segments that fit with his agenda. An agenda that was so close to what Sinclair is attempting to do that it almost seems as like hypocrisy; which, it is. On “Fahrenheit 9/11”’s release republicans were outraged. They went on news shows talking about how the documentary was “completely false” and an effort to destroy the president’s credibility and record. Moore’s response, hadn’t I made it clear enough, of course it is. He owned up to his intentional bashing of the president for his actions over the past three and three-quarter years. Sinclair refuses to do that. They believe that what their doing is right, and that makes no sense. The main difference between the Sinclair Group and Moore is that Moore released his documentary in theaters while Sinclair is essentially forcing people to watch. You had to pay to see Moore’s film. You had to make an effort to drive to the movie theater, buy a ticket and watch the thing. Sinclair’s situation is totally different. These are network television stations airing propaganda. The people have no choice but to watch.
More importantly, why wasn't this 'film' aired earlier or during Kerry's run for Senator of
Massachusetts? It's way too convenient. And more over it is, in fact, politically motivated and the Democrats should have their chance to air something similar. What Sinclair is doing is wrong. It's so wrong, in fact, that many of their stations refuse to air the documentary and are now drowning in Sinclair’s hot water themselves. No one knows if a democrat or just someone with a shred of common sense runs those stations. They just don’t want to air the damn thing.
So, now that I’ve severely jumped around and turned a well-thought piece of writing into mish-
mash, I’ll leave you with the simple fact that this whole thing is stupid and no one should be judged on the mistakes of their past. Kerry, after returning, spoke out against the Vietnam Conflict and many veterans are hurt by that, and Bush was a cocaine addict with a D.U.I. on his record. The past is the past, and if it’s to fact into one of the candidates then the same should be extended to the other. It’s called fair and balanced. And that’s it.

Currently rocking: The Black Keys "Rubber Factory", Talib Kwali "The Beautiful Struggle", Mos Def "The New Danger", and The Blood Brothers "Crimes"
That, and I'm working...on a Sunday. Meh, it happens.
In a few I'll be practicing with Hospital;. Things are going pretty well. We're almost done with two songs and have three others on the way, but I have an itch to write something new today for some reason. We'll see what happens.

Matthew's Response to Part of the October 13th Presidential Debate:
"Essentially:
Q.) Mr. President, how do you help someone who just watched their job get outsourced to a foreign country?
A.) Send 'em back to school?
Yeah, and uh, that's great. How do they afford it? Community college? HA! Not if I want the kind of job I think I should have. What if I already have a four-year degree and my job gets outsourced? What then? More college?! I don't have the money!! More loans?! Yeah, right!"
So, basically, the words of Professor Farnsworth come to mind, "Have you priced those lately? I'm not made of money, leave me alone."

Was the baby born giving the guns? One would hope so. Also, it is assumed that the baby has a bit more common-sense, as a new born, than his/her mother. What a disgusting woman. I'm sorry, what she did was horrible, and there's nothing you can say that will change that.

I'm an Adult Most of the Time
The office is dead. It's one fifteen and I'm the only one here. I like it. Although I am abusing my
time writing a blog it still feels calm. New guy Andy went to lunch to find something to fill his gabbing mouth and I have my office alone. It's only day two of the shared confinement issue has been created, but the rot-gut feeling had been building ever since I found out that my office would be shared with a guy like Andy. I don't want to say anything disparaging about him right now, however, other than his ability to talk at great lengths at an intolerable volume (In the true use of the word: not only is he loud, his voice fills the room. There's a great deal of density in decibels in this office now.) Anything else wouldn't be fair. I don't know him very well. Haven't given him the chance to show me what kind of a person he is. So, I'll see about that. As it stands, I'm not judging at all but heavily weighing his attributes. Does that qualify as judging? I don't think so. There's a difference between making a decision about how you feel about a person than outright judging a person.
That's about it. People will be showing up shortly from their lunch break, and I need to start
listening to the Killers before then.

This is taken directly from the sub-headline on money.CNN.com:
"Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner of the largest chain of television stations in the nation, plans to air a documentary that accuses Sen. John Kerry of betraying American prisoners during the Vietnam War, a newspaper reported Monday."
In related news, CNN will be airing a special comparing the problems the president and the late Rick James faced called "Cocaine's a Hell of a Drug".
There is a rumor that the President was wearing a wire during last weeks debate, and I believe it. Why? If you noticed throughout the debate the President was fidgeting and changed directions, mid-sentences a lot more than his last appearance or any other televised appearance. He sounded like Ted Turner after a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed. There also was a bulge in his back. Unless that's a tumor or growth directly below the base of his next, there was something placed there.
New guy day
hooray, or some crap
So, there's a new guy starting today. I had been perfectly fine with the idea of being 'coached',
in a manner of speaking, by a pro, but they've decided to put the guy in my office. Sounds selfish of me? Damn right! This was my office. My first office, ever. I had it all to myself. I could drop a CD and listen while I searched or called people. Can that still happen with another dude in the room. It's not a big office, by the way. No dividers or anything to separate us. Just his loud, phone calling ass and me.
I probably shouldn't be this abrasive before the guy starts. Should give him a chance, and things
will probably be fine. I'm just scared. Did I think I was the Alpha Male or something? Probably not. Do I think that my job security is an issue; yeah, I do. Who's to know if this guy won't just take my damn job. I thought I had been doing well, but when I get frustrated or down on what's happening, I lose it. Start making a lot of mistakes. And that's what I think is going to happen.
Call me crazy, neurotic, or whatever - all are true - but I'm worried.

Air-head or Air head?
What does that even mean?
So, Brandan Boyd was arrest and fined for possestion of a switchblade at New York City's
LaGuardia Airport yesterday. His reponse, "My bad." This comment was relayed, of course, via Incubus' spokeswoman, Lois Najarian. Can you imagine the soundbite. Mr. Boyd would like to say to the American Public that it was 'his bad', and that he would advise against kids doing the same. Popstars are great, aren't they.

Anger Management Indeed
Building a bridge for racial tolerance he is not. Milton Bradley is in trouble again. The Dodgers outfielder, who has no relation to board games other than a cruel joke by his parents, has been ejected twice this season for throwing things. The most recent of which was a plastic bottle that had been thrown out onto the field after Bradley made a costly error. This time he decided to toss out some words. Forget bottles, Bradley’s going for that abuse that only racial insults can bring. He was interviewed recently by sources he didn’t call ‘Uncle Tom’s, and explained that he is seeking out anger management therapy to work on his tantrums. TRY HARDER DOUCHEBAG! Keeping yourself calm can be hard sometimes, but you’ve taken it to that next step. You’ve verbally abused a reporter who simply asked you questions about the bottle throwing incident and his five-game suspension.
As far as I’m concerned, the guy shouldn’t play the post-season at all. Racial intolerance, even though both of the gentlemen are the same race, is a very serious matter; far more serious than throwing a bottle or a bag of balls. Throw him out. That’s enough.

Impressed that the Cardinals beat the Dodgers 8-3? I'm not because the Red Sox are stomping the Angels 8-1 in the bottom of the fifth with men on first and second, and Manny's up. Does this tell you anything? Shilling, you are a god...demigod?
Dear, God, I need to find something to do
Short and bitter, sadly
As I sit around and do nothing a vast majority of time and focus on mundane points and bank
